The Role

As a Unit Leader, your primary role is to inspire, guide, and empower your regional team of electrical test engineers, to achieve business goals aligned with our company's strategy. You will drive the implementation of operational plans and rally others towards their successful execution. This position requires adept handling of challenging situations and navigating change management. Collaborating closely with technical experts within your team, you will facilitate the ongoing development and proficiency of team members in technical skills.

What you will be doing 

As Unit leader you will:

  • Lead a team of engineers in your region to meet business targets and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure your region has the necessary resources and skills to meet demands.
  • Set performance objectives and development plans for engineers, fostering growth opportunities.
  • Identify and nurture talent within the territory.
  • Monitor performance indicators to gauge engineer performance and implement improvement strategies as needed.
  • Manage workload within the region efficiently.
  • Collaborate with others to prevent and resolve complaints effectively. Inspire and drive change within the region to achieve operational goals aligned with the business vision.
  • Act as a key communicator with internal and external stakeholders to build relationships and enhance performance.

What you’ll have

  • You will have experience managing a field-based team  
  • Use will have worked towards KPI’s
  • You will have supported in the couching and development of a team
  • You will has industry experience that allows you to Identify trends in the market which will affect the business lead change
  • You will have experience in managing stakeholder relationships understand the importance of partnering with our customers to ensure they  
  • NVQ Level 3 Qualification in electrical installation work e.g. C&G 2330, 2360, 2357, 2365
  • City & Guilds Inspection and Testing or equivalent
  • Good level of computer literacy
  • Full driving licence held for 12 months (Minimum)
  • 18th edition ideally - however, 18th edition and asbestos awareness courses can be offered at our in-house training centre.
